Can You Trust Psychology? How to Prevent or Cure Any Mental Illness

There are so many psychologists in our world that we could say that everyone could have a private psychologist. Many theories and new discoveries are presented together, as if there was no difference between theories and real discoveries that can be confirmed.

When I started studying psychology I verified the existence of a chaotic situation in this field. Who was right? Whose method could I trust?

I cared about psychology because I had to urgently solve my own psychological problems. I needed relief. I needed peace.

At that time (1984) I was a new mother and I had to be with my baby all the time. I remembered the words of one of my best Brazilian friends, Arnold. He liked Carl Jung's psychology and he knew everything about him. I always had the curiosity to read Jung's books after having many conversations about his theories with Arnold, but I never did it when I was a teen and we had these discussions.

Arnold became psychotic when we was 21-years-old. I had decided to live in Greece near my relatives because of the social problems of Sao Paulo. We had no safety. My mother was in Brazil at that time and she helped Arnold's family on my behalf.

I somehow blamed Carl Jung's ideas because my friend became psychotic. Jung didn't help him find sound mental health.

Arnold committed suicide after following a psychiatric treatment with heavy medications during five years. One of my mother's friends had indicated this psychiatrist, who was supposedly a specialist. However, he was unable to help my friend recuperate his conscience.

When Arnold put an end to his life (when he was 26-years-old) I was living in Athens and I was already married. I was only in the beginning of my studies about the meaning of dreams.
I had an impressing vivid dream a few days before learning about his death. I saw the Earth globe from distance, as if I was somewhere in the space. Then, a voice told me that someone was looking for the elixir of life, but couldn't find it.

I understood that I couldn't blame Carl Jung's lessons because my friend didn't escape psychosis. Arnold liked psychology so much because he had many invisible psychological problems that we didn't suspect he had.

He seemed to be a very intelligent and balanced young man when we were close friends. He was my boyfriend's old classmate, and he was a member of our gang.

I belonged to a gang made by 12 boys and 5 girls when I was a teen. Arnold seemed to be perfectly balanced and well educated. He had never caused any problem. He was a good friend. His mental illness was a horrible surprise that no-one could predict at the time we were teens.

His case helped me understand that mental illnesses are extremely dangerous. Arnold suddenly lost his mind. He had a nervous crisis and he started breaking everything at his house. He was interned and had electroshock therapy. I couldn't believe that this tragedy had happened to him, but I met Arnold at a clinic (in 1980) in Sao Paulo, when I went back to Brazil after my long trip to the USA and Greece, before deciding to permanently live in Greece.

I wanted to cry, but I had to be strong. He had lost his intelligence. His words made no sense. I couldn't believe that such tragedy had happened to my friend.

I understood that anyone can be suddenly controlled by absurdity and show abnormal behavior, even if this person seems to be balanced according to the criteria of our historical time. This is a psychological fact you must remember.

Arnold was a responsible teen. He worked in a bank and he was trying to study psychology in one of the best universities of Sao Paulo and become a psychologist. He seemed to be one of the most balanced and intelligent members of our gang.

I also knew his family very well because we used to eat there and stay in his house listening to music and talking for hours. His mother was an excellent cook and his father and two sisters were very generous. His family was one of the best families of the world. His mental illness was a tragic surprise no-one could expect from a normal young man like him, who had such a wonderful family.

He had a good education, but his parents were too generous with him. They let him decide everything his own way.

Arnold was treated as if he knew everything because he was very intelligent, while he was ignorant. We blame parents who repress their children, but we should also blame parents who give too much freedom to their children because they seem to be responsible and intelligent. Parents must give guidance to their children, without believing that their children are intelligent enough and they know what they are doing when they are teens.

When I started studying psychology because I was always depressed, I remembered a few of the discussions I had with Arnold about Carl Jung's points of view. I started reading his books. I was surprised with the superiority of his work, after reading the books of many named psychologists.

I understood that only Carl Jung's method of dream interpretation could be applied to any type of dream and always make sense. Jung's interpretations didn't look like the superficial interpretations of all the other psychologists. The work of a genius like Carl Jung was quite different from the work of average scientists.
When I finally understood his complicated method of dream interpretation I realized that thanks to his extraordinary work I had found a treasure. Carl Jung was the best teacher and doctor I ever had. I read all his books numerous times. He saved my life.

I cared about the meaning of dreams because I had many vivid dreams. I could remember all their details. Many dreams had marked my life and had intrigued me. I always had the curiosity to understand the meaning of dreams, but I had never supposed that someday I would become a dream expert.

Thanks to Carl Jung's method of dream interpretation I found psychotherapy. I also discovered another dimension in the dream messages because all dreams are produced by the divine unconscious mind. The unconscious mind is God's mind.

This scientific discovery was made by Carl Jung, but he didn't have a religious attitude before God's wisdom. I had a religious attitude, understanding that I should obey the divine guidance in dreams, and never do what my ignorant and evil conscience desired.

For me it was obvious that I should be grateful for being able to understand God's guidance, even though I was a terrible sinner. The fact that I was a terrible sinner was obvious too. I was ready to commit adultery (in 1988, when I became a dream expert) because I was in love with a married man, who was my husband's best customer. Only because God helped me understand the meaning of dreams and I was obeying the unconscious guidance, could I save my dignity and my sanity in the situation I was.

God showed me that He was giving me the opportunity to find sound mental health even though I didn't deserve this grace because He was showing mercy to those who would be the victims of my absurdity. I was always angry because I was an impatient monster, and because I had made many mistakes based on my absurd ideas.

I had to respect my moral principals, and remember the religious lessons I had when I studied in a Catholic school in Brazil by entering into contact with the Catholic Church of Athens. I started following various seminars given by priests, besides going to the church every Sunday.

I also became a doctor and I started saving others through dream therapy without payment, besides helping them through many other ways because they had numerous problems. (I had a store with my mother and we had regular customers. This is why I could be generous with my patients.) The fact that they had no time for psychotherapy obliged me to simplify the method of dream interpretation discovered by Carl Jung.
His method is too time consuming. Nobody had the patience to wait for the interpretation of their dreams the next day or the next month. I had to immediately translate all dreams, and without writing them down, just by talking with my patients, personally or by phone.

Carl Jung's method of dream interpretation was superior, but too complicated. This method helped me discover psychological facts that nobody knows, but that are real and dangerous.
Thanks to the wisdom of the unconscious mind that produces our dreams I learned how to prevent craziness, and help those who have psychological problems solve these problems before having a nervous crisis like Arnold. I also learned how to help those who already lost their human conscience (like my friend) recuperate their lost conscience.

Christina Sponias continued Carl Jung's research into the human psyche, discovering the cure for all mental illnesses, and simplifying the scientific method of dream interpretation that teaches you how to exactly translate the meaning of your dreams, so that you can find health, wisdom and happiness.
