Always choose to walk when you can, rather than putting modern conveniences to use. Choose the staircase whenever possible, even if it seems more convenient to take an elevator or escalator. There's nothing wrong with walking a mile to the convenience store rather than driving. What you should do is take a look at your average day and see if there are any particular times that you could walk somewhere, as opposed to driving, etc. This might not seem like much, yet it plays a part in and adds to exercise and a whole lot more. Furthermore, you'll be burning more calories and also toning your leg muscles. An additional thing for you to do is park a bit further away from your destination, for instance, the mall. There are tons of strategies that allow you to bring yourself out of the expedient way of thinking that has overtaken modern life.
